Sing-a-longs and Burgerfi

Yummmmmmmmmmmy
Today was my first experience with the glory that is Burgerfi.  I have heard nothing but good things about this place and I've been wanting to find a good local burger joint for a long time for me to go to when I get a craving.  I believe I have now found my new favorite place to eat.

All of the things I had been told by friends who raved to me about Burgerfi did not do it justice.  First off, the burgers are a wonderfully manageable size instead of the flying saucer-sized ones that are normally served at burger places so I felt no remorse with eating the whole thing.  Second of all, they are so perfectly cooked and so perfectly seasoned I could literally just eat the patty and be completely content.  Then you add in the factor that the bun is toasted and as everyone knows, toasting something makes it about a quadrillion times better so taking that first bite into such an utterly flawless burger was complete euphoria.

Burgerfi also has some of the best fries and shakes I have ever had in my whole life.  The one in the picture is their Red Velvet shake and dear god it has actual cake blended into it.  Drinking this thing is like eating Red Velvet cake with creamy vanilla ice cream, but the best part is that they put SPRINKLES on top of it!!! :D  I was severely judged by my friend Emily when I took those delicious fries and scooped up some of my fabulous milkshake with them, but obviously she has never tried that or else she would have done the same thing with wholehearted enthusiasm.

After lunch, Emily and I went to a movie.  Specifically, a Frozen sing-a-long.  We thought that it was going to be torturous having small children sing very loudly and very badly while we tried to watch the movie but in reality, Emily and I were the ones singing.  A whole movie theater filled with children under the age of eight and we were the only ones singing.  Given I didn't know the words very well since it was my very first time seeing the movie.  Nonetheless I sang my heart out and had a great time doing so!  I would also like to make a request for a birthday present, I want a Kristoff for my birthday.  And maybe a Sven too cause he's so damn cute.

Valentine's Day Part 2 & OOTD

Surprisingly enough, I had a very good Valentine's Day!  Although I did not have a hot boy bring me chocolate and flowers I did spend the day with two of my best friends, Emily and Laura!  I decided that since it's Valentine's Day I might as well do an outfit of the day including red, the color of loooooooove.  Emily brought us these fantastic coffees from Caribou called the Campfire Mocha and oh my god go get one this very second because these things have, I shit you not, marshmallows in them.  Once we got back inside with our mochas, we watched Tangled and sang along to every single song very loudly and disrupted everybody else in my house with our slightly off-key yodeling.  So enjoy my outfit of the day and my awkward posing!

See? I have no idea what I'm doing.

I really need to figure out how to pose.

I don't even remotely know what's going on.

I eventually gave up.

Valentine's Day Part 1

I used to love Valentine's Day.  When I was younger, my parents would always get cute little packages of chocolates for me and my sister with a sweet you're-such-a-wonderful-daughter card for each of us.  And of course there was always the delightful abundance of candy that was placed in our painstakingly decorated shoeboxes along with cheesy cookie cutter Kim Possible Valentines.  I tended to put a substantial amount of glitter on my shoeboxes.  Ah, those were the days.

Now I dread February 14.

I hate seeing all these lovey-dovey couples hanging on each other the whole damn day.  It's not that I don't think it's cute and sweet and blah blah blah… my issue is that these couples can't give it a rest for like five minutes.  It is absolutely nauseating.  Have some shame for gods sake.  It's also a painful reminder for everyone that hasn't had too much luck in their love life, like myself.  I've started seeing today as a shitty little proverbial slap to the face for those who have never had a special someone to spend this overhyped holiday with.

As of the past few years, getting a Valentine's Day card is rare, even from my family or friends.  And hell if I should even think about a BOY giving me a Valentine, that's just insane.  This year was the first year that I thought I might have a great guy to spend the day with but of course not.  That whole thing promptly fell apart.  At least I keep finding out very unpleasant things about him which makes it ever so simple to dislike him.  Who knows, maybe some gorgeous boy is secretly in love with me and I'll have an absolutely amazing day! :D But the chances of that happening are extremely slim :/

Valentine's Day is also a bit ridiculous in my opinion.  Do people really need a whole holiday as an excuse to tell the important ones in their lives that they love them?  You need to show those people every single day how much they mean to you, if they really do mean all that much to you.  That doesn't mean that you can't make Valentine's Day special for your significant other, there's a tremendous amount of socioeconomic pressure to create the perfect romantic day for your twu wuv (The Princess Bride anyone?) so you might as well make the most of it!

As for me, I'll be spending the day with some other single pringle friends (I'm talking to you, Laura ;)) and we'll most likely eat plenty of chocolate and relish in the healing power of carbohydrates and Star Trek.  You'd be surprised at how comforting Star Trek really is!  I also can't wait to buy a shitload of discounted chocolates tomorrow :D

Giraffes are amazing,

Hello! :D

My name is Rebecca Reid, I am 16 years old and I love giraffes.  I guess that was my form of a lame-ass ice breaker but hey, if you're still reading this then the ice has been broken! :) I really do love giraffes though.

Some fun facts about me:
-I play soccer and my favorite team is the Tottenham Hotspurs
-Theatre is my thing and I love performing
-I love giraffes
-Fleetwood Mac, Imagine Dragons, and New Politics are my jam
-I love to wear loose jeans because NORMAL SIZED POCKETS
-I curse sometimes so be aware of that :)
-I tend to be angry often and I get annoyed easily

Most of my posts will be about my life and the things that annoy me with a few beauty and fashion things thrown in there every now and again.  I called my blog Reid Between the Lines not just for the clever play on words or to reference that sad little fifth-grader way of flipping someone off, but I also got it from my wonderful friend Laura (Laura Pie), who suggested it to me.

I hope that you find my anger and teenage angst entertaining because if I'm going to write about it, I might as well try to make someone else laugh with all of my idiocy! :)

Giraffes are glorious,

Rebecca
